Learning Lounge Presentation

The Missing Link in Chronic Disease

Measure • Restore • Verify

Hans Vink, PhD — Co-Founder & Chief Science Officer

Presentation time and room will be added here once AAMP publishes the final schedule.

The presentation will discuss

  • Why the endothelial glycocalyx is fundamental to vascular health
  • Measuring microvascular health using GlycoCheck®
  • Detecting dysfunction before traditional symptoms appear
  • Restoring endothelial health with ReVasca®
  • Using objective measurements to verify patient outcomes
  • Practical clinical implementation into everyday practice

Meet the founders

The science and the technology, in one room

One of the unique opportunities at AAMP is the chance to meet the founders behind both. Ask questions directly, and discuss the science and its practical implementation.

Dr Hans Vink, PhD

Dr Hans Vink, PhD

Co-Founder & Chief Science Officer

Internationally recognised vascular scientist and a pioneer of endothelial glycocalyx research. Hans has spent more than two decades advancing our understanding of the glycocalyx and its role in microvascular health — work behind more than 160 peer-reviewed publications, validated by over 300 medical and research institutions worldwide.

RL

Robert (Bob) Long

Co-Founder & Chief Executive Officer

For more than 15 years Bob has worked alongside Hans to turn glycocalyx science from academic research into practical clinical tools — helping physicians, researchers and healthcare organisations implement GlycoCheck® and build a category of medicine centred on objective measurement of vascular health.

Together, Hans and Bob have spent more than fifteen years building GlycoCheck®, ReVasca® and the Glycocalyx Research Institute into one of the world’s leading organisations dedicated to endothelial glycocalyx research, education and clinical implementation.

The science

The endothelial glycocalyx: the foundation of vascular health

The glycocalyx is the fragile gel layer lining every blood vessel in your body. When it degrades, delivery fails in the microvessels first — long before a standard test finds anything. GlycoCheck images that layer directly and scores it.

Verify

Objective outcomes, not impressions

Re-testing is the point. A repeat GlycoCheck assessment shows whether an intervention moved the patient’s microvasculature — so you can guide clinical decisions, document effectiveness and show the patient their own progress.

  • Repeat assessments on the same objective scale
  • Guide clinical decisions with data
  • Document treatment effectiveness over time

The conference

About AAMP Fall Conference

AAMP — Advanced Applications in Medical Practice — was founded in 2016 by Dr Paul Anderson as advanced, beyond-the-basics education for physicians already practising integrative medicine. Autumn 2026 is its twentieth international conference, themed “Chronic Disease Epidemic: Advanced Applications” around toxicity syndromes, chronic infections and autoimmunity, carrying 18 AMA PRA Category 1 credits.

It is deliberately small and single-track: no more than four faculty a day, so each topic gets real depth, with evening workshops and panels rather than a sprawling exhibition floor. That intimacy is the reason it suits us — conversations here run long.

Who attends: Integrative, functional and naturopathic physicians — a naturopathic-heavy mix of NDs, MDs, DOs and nurse practitioners treating complex chronic disease.

Organiser: Advanced Applications in Medical Practice
Venue: Hilton Scottsdale Resort & Villas
Dates: October 2–4, 2026

Why we are there

  • Toxicity, persistent infection and autoimmunity all converge on the endothelium. This programme describes the damage; we bring the instrument that shows it.
  • A previous AAMP conference was given over entirely to integrative cardiology, so the room already has the vascular vocabulary — and AAMP asks exhibitors to bring science rather than a sales pitch, which suits how we would rather talk anyway.
  • Practitioners test their own microvasculature at the stand, then see what a re-test looks like — the workflow they would run in their own clinics.

Before you come

Frequently asked

Where is your booth?
We are at Booth #24. Come and find us — or use the button on this page to book a time so we can give you our full attention.
What is GlycoCheck®?
GlycoCheck is a non-invasive imaging system that measures the endothelial glycocalyx and microvascular health directly, under the tongue. It produces an objective Microvascular Health Score rather than an estimate from a questionnaire.
How long does the assessment take?
The assessment itself takes under 5 minutes, and you can review and understand your results within a few additional minutes. Most people are done, results explained, inside ten.
Does it hurt, and is it invasive?
No. It is entirely non-invasive — a small camera images the capillaries under your tongue. There are no needles and no blood draw.
What is ReVasca®?
ReVasca is our endothelial glycocalyx support formula — the “restore” step after measurement. You can read the full formulation and the research behind it on the ReVasca product page.
How do I become a practitioner or bring GlycoCheck® into my practice?
Come and talk to us at the stand, or start at our practitioner information page. We can walk through implementation, training and what a clinic workflow looks like.
Can I schedule a demonstration or a private meeting?
Yes — use the “Schedule a meeting” button on this page and tell us which day suits you. We hold slots for practitioners who want a longer conversation than a busy exhibition floor allows.
Where can I find the published research?
Our research library holds the peer-reviewed work on the glycocalyx, microvascular health and the methodology behind GlycoCheck.

Reserve time with us at AAMP Fall Conference

Exhibition floors are busy. Book a slot and we will hold it — for a demonstration, an implementation conversation, or simply to be measured properly.
